Beirut:Finance Minister Yassine Jaber met with a World Bank delegation to discuss Lebanon's priority projects under their partnership, focusing on regional connectivity, electricity, customs reform, and housing finance.

According to National news agency - Lebanon, the discussions highlighted the importance of reinforcing regional trade links and enhancing the electricity sector by expanding metering and supporting the transmission network. They also considered additional financing for customs reforms.

The meeting addressed mechanisms for launching housing and solar-energy loans, fostering public-private partnerships, and securing guarantees through the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA). Ongoing discussions with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) were also reviewed.

Participants further examined the digital identity project, the digital laboratory at the Office of the Minister of State for Administrative Reform (OMSAR), and the implementation of the GATE and LEAP projects.

Jaber emphasized the ministry's dedication to accelerating reforms and enhancing collaboration with the World Bank to support Lebanon's economic recovery and boost public revenues.
