Beirut: The Ministry of Finance The Ministry of Finance said payments to retired Internal Security Forces personnel were delayed because it received the required fund-transfer request from the Ministry of Interior only on August 12. It said procedures were immediately launched to complete the payments, stressing that the delay was not its responsibility.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the Ministry of Finance emphasized that it acted promptly upon receiving the fund-transfer request. The ministry clarified that the delay in payments was due to the late submission of the request by the Ministry of Interior, which was responsible for initiating the process.

The Ministry of Finance reassured the affected personnel that it has taken all necessary steps to expedite the payments. The ministry is committed to ensuring that such delays do not occur in the future and is working closely with the Ministry of Interior to streamline the payment process.
