Foreign Minister Contacts GCC Secretary-General, Expresses Appreciation for GCC-US Statement

Beirut: Foreign Affairs and Emigrants Minister, Youssef Rajji, posted today on "X": "I contacted the Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, His Excellency Mr. Jassim Al-Budaiwi, expressing appreciation for the content of the joint ministerial statement by the GCC and the United States of America in terms of support for the bilateral negotiation process between Lebanon and Israel under US sponsorship, and for the efforts to strengthen the sovereignty of the Lebanese state and its monopoly on the use of force on all its territory."

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Rajji highlighted the importance of the statement in reinforcing Lebanon's stance in the ongoing negotiations with Israel. The joint GCC-US statement is seen as a significant endorsement of the diplomatic process aimed at resolving long-standing issues between the two nations. The minister underscored the necessity for Lebanon to maintain control over its own security and reiterated the state's exclusive right to wield force within its borders.
