Foreign Ministry Condemns Houthi Attempt to Target Mecca, Reaffirms Solidarity with Saudi Arabia

beirut: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants strongly condemned what it described as an attempt by the Houthi militia to target Mecca with a drone, denouncing the attack as a grave violation of the sanctity of Islam's holiest sites.

According to National news agency - Lebanon, the ministry expressed Lebanon's full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and affirmed its support for the Kingdom in confronting any attack targeting its security, territorial integrity or holy sites.

The ministry stressed the need to protect sacred places from hostile acts, saying that doing so is essential to preserving peace and security and promoting mutual respect among religions and peoples.

It added that targeting Mecca, or exposing its residents and visitors to danger, violates not only Islamic values and principles but also broader religious, moral and humanitarian norms protecting places of worship and sacred sites.
