French Ambassador Anne Grillo tweeted today over Lebanon’s new government, saying: “After 13 months of vacuum, the formation of the government constitutes the first and essential stage for Lebanon’s recovery. It is urgent now to start work.”
She added: “The tragic situation in the country requires a constructive commitment by all political forces, so that the government led by PM Najib Mikati can work with determination to achieve stability, unity and prosperity in Lebanon and for the sake of all Lebanese.”
“Dear Lebanese friends, France remains committed by your side, and will make sure that your needs and aspirations are met through concrete actions,” Grillo reassured, adding, “On the ground, I will remain keen on that and will continue to work with you and by your side.”
