GCC chief applauds Saudi-US diplomatic efforts for Sudan

GCC Secretary General Jassem Al-Bedaiwi on Saturday applauded the Saudi-US initiative for holding preliminary talks between representatives of the Sudanese Army and the Rapid Support Forces in Jeddah earlier today.

Al-Bedaiwi in a statement praised the goodwill efforts by Saudi Arabia and the US to pave the way for dialogue and defuse tension in Sudan in a manner that would facilitate delivery of humanitarian supplies.

He expressed hope that the initial talks would lead to a political settlement for maintaining the State institutions and attain the people’s aspirations for peace.
