Beirut: Lebanese Forces Party leader Samir Geagea met on Wednesday in Maarab with France's new Ambassador to Lebanon, Patrick Durel, marking the ambassador's first visit since starting his diplomatic mission in the country. The meeting underscored the importance of diplomatic relations and the ongoing collaborative efforts between Lebanon and France.

According to National news agency - Lebanon, Ambassador Durel was accompanied by Political Adviser Raphaelle Samama. The meeting also included former minister and head of the Lebanese Forces' Foreign Relations Department Richard Kouyoumjian and department official Tony Darwish. The discussions centered on the latest local, regional, and international developments, reflecting a broad scope of topics pertinent to both nations.

During the meeting, Geagea expressed his well-wishes for Ambassador Durel's success in his new role, emphasizing the significance of strong Franco-Lebanese relations. Following the general discussions, Geagea and Durel engaged in a private meeting lasting approximately thirty minutes, underscoring the depth and focus of their diplomatic dialogue.
