Maarab: Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea on Tuesday met Maronite Bishop of Canada Paul Marwan Tabet in Maarab to discuss issues concerning the Lebanese diaspora, particularly the community in Canada. The meeting emphasized the significant role of the diaspora in contributing to the homeland's development and state-building efforts.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the meeting was also attended by former MP Imad Wakim, the party's Assistant Secretary for Diaspora Affairs, and Antoine Mourad, head of the office for relations with religious authorities. The discussions centered on the challenges faced by Lebanese expatriates abroad and the need to enhance their engagement in Lebanon's affairs.
The talks highlighted the importance of the diaspora's involvement in advancing the project of building a sovereign state that guarantees the rights of all its constituents. The meeting underscored the commitment to strengthen the participation of Lebanese communities abroad in shaping the future of their homeland.
