Baabda: President Joseph Aoun met with Interior and Municipalities Minister Ahmad Hajjar to review the political and security situation in the country. They emphasized the need to support the president’s efforts to enhance security and stability in Lebanon.
According to National News Agency – Lebanon, discussions also included Saudi Arabia’s decision to resume imports of Lebanese products. This move was welcomed as a sign of confidence in the presidency, government, and the measures taken by the Interior Ministry and security services.
On the security front, Minister Hajjar stressed the central role of security forces in the current context. He updated the president on preparations for the launch of activities at Ren© Moawad Airport in Kleyat, while reaffirming the maintenance of a reinforced security presence across Lebanese regions, particularly in Beirut.
Additionally, President Aoun held talks with Deputy Melhem Riachy, sent by Lebanese Forces party leader Samir Geagea. The meeting focused on political developments in Lebanon and the region, especially the ongoing US-Iran negotiations in Switzerland and their potential impact on Lebanon.
Preparations for the upcoming negotiation session between Lebanon, the United States, and Israel, scheduled in Washington, were also discussed during the meeting.
