Beirut: Interior Minister Ahmad Al-Hajjar said Saudi Arabia remains closely engaged with developments in Lebanon and is committed to the country's stability, unity and territorial integrity. Speaking after a meeting with the Lebanese Press Syndicate, Hajjar highlighted discussions with Saudi, Syrian and Pakistani officials during his recent visit to Mecca, focusing on border security, counter-narcotics cooperation and regional developments.

According to National news agency - Lebanon, on Ren© Mouawad Airport-Kleyat, Hajjar said preparatory work is progressing rapidly, with security agencies submitting technical requirements and the operating company expected to complete key obligations within 90 days in coordination with the Ministry of Public Works and Transport. The minister also outlined a comprehensive plan to regulate motorcycles, strengthen road safety and improve traffic management, particularly in Beirut.

Regarding ongoing negotiations in Washington, Hajjar reiterated that Lebanon's primary objective remains securing a comprehensive ceasefire, describing recent diplomatic efforts as encouraging. He further stressed the government's commitment to enhancing security in Beirut, combating corruption through the full digitalization of vehicle registration services, supporting the security forces and improving municipal governance, particularly in the capital. Hajjar concluded by reaffirming that his ministry serves all Lebanese citizens and remains guided by the principles of state institutions, the rule of law and constitutional legitimacy.
