Beirut: Lebanon's Army Commander General Rodolphe Haykal, on Monday, met with key international and national figures at his Yarzeh office to discuss the prevailing situation in Lebanon and the broader Middle East region. The discussions were centered around the role and contributions of the Lebanese Army in maintaining stability amidst ongoing challenges.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, General Haykal first welcomed Jean Arnault, the Personal Envoy of the UN Secretary-General on the Middle East conflict. Their meeting focused on the importance of the Lebanese Army within the framework agreement, with Arnault commending the army for its significant sacrifices and efforts to uphold stability in the country.

Following his meeting with Arnault, General Haykal engaged in discussions with Vice Speaker Elias Bou Saab and National Defense Minister Major General Michel Menassa. The talks included reviewing recent developments and deliberations on the general amnesty law, alongside issues concerning the military institution.

The series of strategic meetings concluded with MP Jihad Al-Samad, head of the Defense, Interior, and Municipalities Parliamentary Committee. During this discussion, MP Al-Samad emphasized the vital role of the military institution and the necessity for national unity in support of the army's endeavors.
