Beirut: The Ministry of Public Health has condemned the destruction of Ghandour Hospital in Nabatieh al-Fawqa, labeling it a "grave additional violation" of international humanitarian law, which mandates protection for healthcare facilities.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the ministry's Public Health Emergency Operations Center reported that Israeli airstrikes carried out by Israeli forces early Sunday completely destroyed the hospital. The ministry emphasized that the attack is a clear indication of the ongoing escalation of Israeli assaults on Lebanon's healthcare sector, occurring "without accountability or regard for international humanitarian law."

The ministry highlighted that the targeting of Ghandour Hospital exacerbates the challenges faced by Lebanon's healthcare sector amid continuous Israeli aggression. It was noted that the hospital had suspended operations approximately two months ago due to the concentration of Israeli attacks in Nabatieh and surrounding areas. Ghandour Hospital had previously played a crucial role during past hostilities, offering medical services to local residents and serving as a displacement shelter for an extended period.
