HEAVY USE OF TEARGAS CAUSES SUFFOCATION AMONG RIAD AL-SOLH PROTESTERS

Suffocation cases have been recorded among the ranks of retired soldiers, who are currently staging a sit-in in Riad al-Solh Square, due to the heavy use of teargas after attempts to storm the Grand Serail. Riot police and the Lebanese Army prevented protesters from crossing the barrier and the barbed wire. Lebanese Red Cross ambulances duly arrived to the scene to treat those injured.
