Hezbollah Calls for Immediate Action Against Israeli Map Publication

Beirut: Hezbollah has urged Lebanese authorities to halt "humiliating" direct negotiations with Israel following the publication of a map by Israel's Foreign Ministry that shows occupied southern Lebanon as part of Israel. This act is perceived by Hezbollah as a clear indication of Israel's ambitions towards Lebanon's territory and resources.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Hezbollah issued a statement criticizing Israel for not abandoning its territorial ambitions and accused it of using negotiations with Lebanese authorities to buy time and establish new ground realities. The party highlighted that the Lebanese authorities are responsible for their approach, which Hezbollah sees as a series of concessions that offer Israel undue advantages.

Hezbollah emphasized the need for immediate action, urging the government and the Higher Defense Council to convene an emergency session to address the situation. It also called for filing an urgent complaint with the UN Security Council as a primary step in responding to the issue.

The statement expressed that even if Lebanese authorities have committed not to pursue the matter through international forums, there is now no justification for ignoring Israel's territorial ambitions. Hezbollah warned the Lebanese people about the dangers of ongoing concessions and negotiations, urging national unity in defending Lebanon's sovereignty and territorial rights.

Hezbollah's statement concluded by stressing the importance of collective national responsibility in confronting the occupation and safeguarding Lebanon's sovereignty, emphasizing that Israeli ambitions extend beyond southern Lebanon, threatening the entire country.
