Beirut: Hezbollah's media relations office has accused Israel of deliberately setting fire to forested areas in southern Lebanon, describing the fires as part of an "urban destruction" campaign targeting the region's infrastructure and centuries-old olive trees.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the party criticized the Lebanese authorities for not taking legal action against Israel, alleging that Lebanon had agreed not to file complaints in international forums. Hezbollah claims this decision has effectively shielded Israel from accountability, highlighting what they see as "serious concessions" made by the government during negotiations.

"This painful paradox clearly reveals how the authority manages its negotiations and the extent of the serious concessions it has made on various points, and it declares its absolute incompetence in preserving Lebanon's interests and its abandonment of its basic rights," the party's statement asserted.

Hezbollah has called on the Lebanese government, the Environment Ministry, and other relevant authorities to take immediate action to stop what they term as Israel's "aggression" against Lebanon's environment, stressing the ongoing damage to civilians and infrastructure.
