Beirut: Chairman and General Manager of the Housing Bank, Antoine Habib, met Finance Minister Yassine Jaber to discuss securing new financing from Arab development funds to sustain housing loans for low- and middle-income families and people with disabilities.
According to National news agency - Lebanon, the talks also covered the bank's request to exempt its borrowers from property registration fees. Finance Minister Jaber expressed support for the proposal as a way to ease financial burdens and facilitate home ownership for these families.
Both sides also highlighted the importance of the existing electronic link between the Finance Ministry and the Housing Bank. This system enables borrowers to obtain property ownership clearance certificates online, thereby accelerating loan procedures and making the process more efficient.
