Beirut: IDAL Chairman and Director General Majed Monemneh met Justice Minister Adel Nassar to discuss legal and institutional reforms aimed at strengthening Lebanon's investment environment and supporting the government's economic recovery agenda.
According to National news agency - Lebanon, the talks focused on IDAL's strategy to reposition itself as the national agency leading efforts to attract domestic and foreign investment while advancing sustainable economic growth. The two sides emphasized the need to modernize investment-related legislation, remove legal and administrative obstacles facing investors, and strengthen coordination between the Justice Ministry and IDAL to enhance legal certainty, simplify procedures, and reinforce good governance.
Discussions also covered improving the legal framework governing commercial and investment dispute resolution, ensuring effective contract enforcement in line with international best practices, and supporting the One Stop Shop licensing mechanism through the necessary legal and regulatory framework for digital government services.
Monemneh highlighted that a competitive investment environment depends on a stable legal and judicial system that guarantees transparency, investor confidence, and swift dispute resolution. Nassar reaffirmed the ministry's commitment to strengthening the rule of law, judicial independence, and economic legislation to help restore investor confidence and attract high-quality investment.
The two sides agreed to continue coordinating on legislative and regulatory proposals aimed at improving Lebanon's business climate and supporting sustainable investment.
