Industry Ministry Launches Digital Platform at Lebanese Industrial Exhibition

Beirut:The Industry Ministry, led by Minister Joe Issa El Khoury, has launched a new electronic platform designed to provide digital services for industrial licensing and certificates. This initiative is a collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and is funded by the Government of Canada.

According to National news agency - Lebanon, the launch occurred during the Second Lebanese Industrial Exhibition at Seaside Arena. The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Canadian Ambassador Gregory Galligan, UNDP Acting Resident Representative Thaer Shreidi, and other key stakeholders such as the Head of Cooperation at the European Union Delegation to Lebanon, Alessandra Viezzer, and Director General of Industry, Adel Yachoui.

The platform aims to transition from traditional paper-based procedures to fully electronic transactions, enhancing administrative efficiency, reducing costs, and allowing applicants to track their requests online. It also features an electronic directory for users to identify industrial activity categories and available digital services.

Minister El Khoury emphasized that the platform represents a new approach to service delivery for industrialists, highlighting the challenges faced by Lebanese industrialists and the government's responsibility to facilitate their work. He stressed the importance of digital transformation for efficiency and transparency, aiming to replace an individual-dependent administration with a system based on standardized procedures.

Canadian Ambassador Galligan expressed support for the initiative, acknowledging the importance of systems that enable business success and viewing the platform's launch as a significant step forward.
