Beirut: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian met with Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei to discuss the country's military and economic challenges, according to the Supreme Leader's website and Russian state media.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, "Russia Today" quoted the Supreme Leader's website as saying that Pezeshkian held talks with Khamenei as he begins his third year of presidency. The meeting reportedly covered daily living costs, the ongoing war, military developments, energy supplies, government spending, foreign-currency resources, and efforts to strengthen economic ties with foreign partners. This meeting follows Pezeshkian's recent comments about the increased difficulty of direct communication with Khamenei due to heightened security measures.

Meanwhile, Iran's judiciary-affiliated Mizan news agency quoted Basij Deputy Commander Qasem Qoreishi as stating that "footage and documents showing Khamenei in public and meeting military commanders would be released later." This announcement suggests efforts to maintain transparency regarding the Supreme Leader's public engagements.

This was not the first meeting between Pezeshkian and the new Supreme Leader. Despite the president's recent remarks about the difficulty of communicating with Khamenei, he revealed in May that he had held a meeting with him lasting around two and a half hours, praising the new Supreme Leader's "humility and sincere approach."
