Bayada: MP Ibrahim Kanaan, chairman of Parliament's Finance and Budget Committee, on Friday met with U.S. Ambassador to Lebanon Michel Issa at his residence in Bayada for talks that lasted more than 90 minutes.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, discussions focused on developments in Lebanon and the region, particularly the ongoing negotiations in Washington. These talks are considered crucial for securing a ceasefire, strengthening Lebanese sovereignty, and stability, as well as creating the necessary conditions for reconstruction.
The meeting also addressed financial and economic reforms aimed at restoring confidence in Lebanon. Discussions included advancing economic recovery, safeguarding depositors' rights, and restructuring the financial sector.
Both sides further emphasized the importance of supporting the Lebanese Army and enhancing its ability to carry out its responsibilities. This support is aimed at reinforcing state authority and expanding the presence of state institutions across Lebanese territory.
