Kataeb Party Urges Immediate Action on Government Decision Against Hezbollah

Beirut: The Kataeb Party's Political Bureau held its weekly meeting under the leadership of Party Leader Samy Gemayel. Following an evaluation of the latest political, security, and social developments, the Bureau issued a statement emphasizing the need for concrete actions to implement the government's decision regarding Hezbollah.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the Bureau acknowledged the Cabinet's decision to prohibit Hezbollah's security and military activities and to designate it as operating outside the law. It views this decision as a historic step towards restoring State sovereignty. The Bureau insists that the decision should be supported by enforceable measures to ensure the State's exclusive control over arms and the authority to make decisions on war and peace.

The Bureau calls for a state of emergency to enable the Lebanese Armed Forces and security agencies to maintain internal stability. It also recommends reassessing diplomatic ties with Iran, advocating for severing relations and expelling its diplomatic mission due to interference in Lebanon's affairs.

Domestically, the Bureau urges the closure of illegal economic and financial entities linked to groups operating outside State legitimacy, bringing them under legal control. It condemns Iranian actions against Arab states and expresses solidarity with Arab countries that have supported Lebanese communities.

The Bureau expresses regret for the plight of southern Lebanon residents forced to flee due to Hezbollah's actions. It emphasizes the need for displaced persons to be housed in designated centers under official oversight, ensuring safety for both displaced families and host communities.
