Beirut: In a recent statement, Anwar Khalil, a member of the Development and Liberation parliamentary bloc, called on United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon to take action against Israel for its continued occupation of Lebanese territories. Khalil criticized Ban Ki-moon for focusing on the dispatch of an unmanned drone over Palestinian occupied territories instead of addressing the ongoing issues concerning Lebanon.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Khalil emphasized the need for Ban Ki-moon to prioritize compelling Israel to withdraw from Lebanese lands and to cease its daily violations of Lebanese airspace. He expressed that if the UN Secretary General fulfilled his responsibilities in this regard, both Lebanon and the surrounding region would experience greater stability.
