Information Minister, George Kordahi, on Friday welcomed a delegation representing Lebanon’s Media Graduates headed by Khodor Majid, with whom he discussed the country’s general situation, especially that of the media and media professionals.

The delegation presented to Minister Kordahi a draft work plan that they had prepared to develop the media sector.

For his part, Minister Kordahi affirmed that he would work on completing the media law reaching a modern one “that keeps pace with technological developments worldwide.”

He also stressed that he would work to “develop Lebanon’s television and radio,” affirming that he is “against abolishing the Ministry of Information, which should be the regulator and sponsor of public and private media.”

“Tele Liban tops my work priority today; it has great capabilities and potentials. We can broadcast important programs through it,” Kordahi said.

He went to deem Radio Lebanon as “one of the most important radio stations with great potential. It operates on two waves and covers all of Lebanon. We will work on developing a series of programs to compete in the market,” he added.

“We are working to pass a modern media law that will live for 30 years, and we must work to ensure that we have media that looks like us and reflects our image and morals,” Kordahi concluded.
