Lavrov: Europe the ‘Main Obstacle to Peace’ Amid Upcoming US-Ukraine Talks

Moscow: Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said in an interview with the Russian news agency TASS, reviewing the results of 2025, that Europe is the "main obstacle to peace."

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, this statement comes as negotiators from the United States and Ukraine prepare for talks aimed at ending the ongoing conflict. Lavrov added on Sunday: "After the change of administration in the United States, Europe and the European Union have become the main obstacle to peace."

Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and US President Donald Trump are set to meet at 1:00 p.m. local time on Sunday at Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Florida, in an effort to advance a US-proposed peace plan.
