Lebanese Army Denies Forcing Syrians to Cross River During Border Incident

Beirut: The Lebanese Army's Directorate of Orientation has refuted recent allegations suggesting that Lebanese forces compelled Syrians to cross a river while attempting illegal border crossings on the northern Lebanese-Syrian frontier.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the Army clarified that there were no military units present in the specified area at the time of the reported incident. The Army assured that no individuals were forced to return via the river. It also confirmed that search operations are ongoing for missing persons, conducted in coordination with Syrian authorities.

The Army further emphasized its role in facilitating the voluntary return of Syrians through official border crossings. This process ensures their safety and involves verifying their secure arrival in Syria in cooperation with Syrian officials.
