Beirut: The Lebanese-British Friendship Committee, led by MP Ibrahim Kanaan, convened with a British parliamentary delegation headed by Emily Thornberry, along with MPs Abtisam Mohamed, Alan Gemmell, and Edward Morello. The meeting also included the presence of British Ambassador to Lebanon Hamish Cowell. On the Lebanese side, MPs Fouad Makhzoumi, Hagop Pakradounian, Nicolas Sehnaoui, Camille Chamoun, and Edgar Traboulsi participated in the discussions.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the meeting took place in the Finance and Budget Committee Hall at the Lebanese Parliament and centered on strengthening bilateral relations. A key focus was on how Britain could assist in mobilizing international support for enforcing resolutions related to the Israeli withdrawal from Lebanon and extending state authority across Lebanese territory through the Lebanese army. The talks highlighted the importance of British support in bolstering the Lebanese Army, emphasizing its vital role in maintaining security, stability, and border control.

Additionally, the discussions explored legal, economic, and trade relations between Lebanon and Britain. There was a particular emphasis on the need to activate and enhance these relations in the future and to facilitate the exchange of expertise in various fields.
