Beirut: The Presidency of the Lebanese Republic announced a significant trilateral meeting involving President Joseph Aoun, Jordan's King Abdullah II, and French President Emmanuel Macron. This meeting took place ahead of the preparatory meeting for the international conference aimed at supporting the Lebanese Army and Internal Security Forces, held at Les Invalides in Paris.

According to National news agency - Lebanon, the discussions during the trilateral meeting centered on mechanisms to enhance cooperation and coordination in areas of mutual interest between the three nations. The leaders also highlighted the importance of France hosting a new round of the "Aqaba Meetings" initiative. This initiative focuses on examining ways to bolster the Lebanese Army, enabling it to fulfill its duties in ensuring the security and safety of the Lebanese populace, in collaboration with the Internal Security Forces.

The meeting also addressed the pressing issue of dangerous regional escalation. The leaders underscored the necessity for increased international efforts to achieve a comprehensive and sustainable de-escalation, aiming to restore stability to the region. Discussions extended to the recent developments in Gaza, the West Bank, and al-Quds.

During the discussions, President Aoun advocated for the formulation of a joint regional security strategy. He emphasized the importance of shared energy projects and enhanced economic, security, and political cooperation to address the challenges facing the region.
