Lebanon’s Yuri Nassif Wins Prestigious Gold Belt at Sanda Martial Arts Championship in Italy

Beirut: Lebanese Yuri Nassif achieved a remarkable milestone by winning his first fight in the under-17 category, earning the gold belt during the "Sanda" Chinese boxing competitions, as part of the activities of the 22nd C.K.A.-CSEN World Cup and the 15th Tai Chi Therapy Championship, held at the Pala Barton Energy Sports Hall in Perugia, Italy, between May 15 and 17, 2026.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, this championship is one of the largest international martial arts gatherings in Europe, attracting hundreds of professional and amateur athletes, as well as coaches and specialized academies, from more than 30 countries in Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and Latin America, including Italy, China, Brazil, Spain, Lebanon, Greece, and Germany.

Participants across various age categories, from juniors and youth to adults and masters, compete over three days of intense competition.

The event's significance extends beyond the sporting aspect, providing a platform for cultural and technical exchange between different martial arts schools. It brings together practitioners from diverse backgrounds and styles on a unified global stage, fostering a spirit of competition, camaraderie, and a shared passion for martial arts.
