Yarzeh: Defense Minister, Michel Menassa, on Friday welcomed Danish Ambassador to Lebanon, Kristoffer Vivike, in Yarzeh, where the envoy reaffirmed Denmark's commitment to supporting Lebanon and the Lebanese Armed Forces, both directly and through the United Nations Development Programme and the European Union.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the ambassador also informed Menassa of Copenhagen's decision to establish a military attach© office at its embassy in Beirut and appoint a Danish military attach© to Lebanon, in a move aimed at strengthening bilateral defense cooperation.
Discussions covered regional developments, including the U.S.-Iran memorandum of understanding, ongoing U.S.-mediated Lebanon-Israel negotiations, and the future of United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon following the end of its current mandate later this year.
Menassa later met former MP Atef Majdalani to discuss the country's political and security situation.
