Prime Minister-designate in charge of forming the new government, Najib Mikati, announced at the end of the non-binding parliamentary consultations today, that “deputies and parliamentary blocs were unanimous on the request to urgently form the government, since that would restore the state and its existence, which renders citizens reassured.”

“Circumstances are difficult and the needs of the citizens must be secured… and after meeting with the blocs, I will inform President Aoun of the absolute necessity to form the government, and I will continuously visit the Baabda Palace to expedite the cabinet formation.”
