MIKATI CHAIRS MEETING OVER VEHICLE REGISTRATION CENTER ‘NAFAA’ CONDITIONS, MEETS AMERICAN TASK FORCE FOR LEBANON DELEGATION IN PRESENCE OF AMBASSADOR SHEA

Caretaker Prime Minister, Najib Mikati, on Tuesday chaired a meeting at the Grand Serail attended by Caretaker Minister of Finance, Dr. Youssef El-Khalil, Caretaker Minister of Interior and Municipalities, Judge Bassam Mawlawi, MPs Sajih Attieh and Ahmed Khair, as well as the Director General of the Ministry of Finance, George Maarawi, and the Governor of Beirut Judge Marwan Abboud. On emerging, Caretaker Minister Mawlawi said: “Our meeting today aimed at informing the Prime Minister of the steps we are taking to restore work in the Vehicle Registration Center (Nafaa),’ adding that “Matters are on the right track, and the Nafaa will open again soon.” On the other hand, Premier Mikati met with a delegation from the American Task Force for Lebanon (ATFL), headed by its President Ambassador Edward M. Gabriel, in presence of U.S. Ambassador to Lebanon, Dorothy Shea. Discussions reportedly touched on the current general situation in Lebanon. On emerging, Ambassador Gabriel highlighted the importance of the election of a capable, decent and reformist president for the republic.
