MIKATI FOLLOWS-UP ON KHALDEH SECURITY INCIDENTS WITH ARMY CHIEF, CALLS ON CITIZENS TO EXERCISE SELF-RESTRAINT, STAY AWAY FROM STRIFE, FIGHTING

Prime Minister-designate Najib Mikati followed up this evening on the events taking place in Khaldeh, which left a number of dead and wounded.

 

In this connection, he made a call to Army Chief, General Joseph Aoun, who confirmed that “the army will boost its presence in the area to control the situation.”

 

Meanwhile, Mikati called on the people of the region to “be aware and practice self-restraint in order to prevent bloodshed and not be drawn into strife and useless fighting.”
