MIKATI MEETS GLC DELEGATION, BROACHES GENERAL SITUATION WITH JAPANESE AMBASSADOR, RECEIVES LEBANESE UNIVERSITY PRESIDENT, LEBANON’S AMBASSADOR TO BRAZIL

Caretaker Prime Minister, Najib Mikati, on Thursday met at the Grand Serail with a delegation of the General Labor Confederation (GLC), chaired by Beshara Al-Asmar.

On emerging, Al-Asmar said that the visit aimed to discuss the tax procedures resulting from Articles 27, 33 and 35 of the state Budget Law, which were translated by a memorandum from the Caretaker Minister of Finance and the Governor of the Banque du Liban. Al-Asmar also pointed out that the delegation submitted to the Premier a memorandum proposing some amendments.

Premier Mikati also met with Japanese Ambassador to Lebanon, Masayuki Magoshi, who came on his first courtesy visit to the Grand Serail, upon assuming his new duties in the country.

On emerging, Ambassador Magoshi said they discussed the current general situation and the bilateral relations between the two countries.

The Japanese Ambassador voiced his Country’s continued support for Lebanon and its people.

The Caretaker Premier later received the President of the Lebanese University, Bassam Badran, with discussions reportedly touching on the Lebanese University’s related affairs.

Among Premier Mikati’s itinerant visitors for today had been Lebanese Ambassador to Brazil, Carla Jazzar.
