Islamabad: Interior and Municipalities Minister, Ahmad Al-Hajjar, held a bilateral meeting with Pakistan's Interior and Narcotics Control Minister, Mohsin Naqvi, in Islamabad, to discuss Lebanese-Pakistani relations and ways to strengthen them, particularly in the security field amid the challenges facing Lebanon and the ongoing Israeli attacks in the south.

According to National news agency - Lebanon, security and coordination between the relevant institutions in both countries were at the center of the expanded talks, which were attended by Lebanon's Ambassador to Pakistan, Abdulaziz Issa; Director General of the Internal Security Forces, Major General Raed Abdullah; Secretary of the Central Internal Security Council, Brigadier General Sami Nassif; and Head of the Information Branch of the Internal Security Forces, Brigadier General Mahmoud Qabresli.

Ministers Al-Hajjar and Naqvi discussed shared security challenges, regional and international developments and their impact on the security and stability of states, as well as ways to strengthen cooperation between the two Interior Ministries. They also discussed developing a practical mechanism for coordination and the exchange of expertise and information, with the aim of enhancing institutional capabilities and addressing emerging security challenges.

Minister Al-Hajjar stressed that "security cooperation is a fundamental pillar in protecting stability and strengthening the ability of security institutions to confront shared challenges."

The two Ministers exchanged views on a number of regional and international dossiers, and affirmed their commitment to continued consultation and coordination on matters of common interest and to strengthening efforts aimed at consolidating security and stability.
