Beirut: Minister of Information, Attorney Dr. Paul Morcos, on Tuesday received the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Lebanon, Fahad bin Abdulrahman Al-Dosari, who came on a protocol visit upon assuming his diplomatic duties. The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss the general situation in the region and Lebanon, as well as bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to enhance media cooperation.

According to National news agency - Lebanon, Minister Morcos expressed honor in receiving Ambassador Al-Dosari following the presentation of his credentials to the President of the Republic. The visit to the Ministry of Information served as a platform to discuss bilateral relations and strategies to strengthen them, alongside deliberations on current regional developments.

Morcos highlighted the focus on media cooperation between Lebanon and Saudi Arabia, emphasizing support for the Lebanese media sector. He briefed the ambassador on the development of Lebanon's media landscape, which is noted for its freedom of opinion and expression, and discussed the anticipated adoption of a new media law. Updates were provided on the progress of Lebanon's public media institutions, including the rejuvenation of T©l© Liban with a new board of directors, the re-launch of the National News Agency in a new format, and efforts to advance Radio Lebanon. The dialogue also explored potential exchanges of expertise and collaboration between the media institutions of both countries.

Minister Morcos also underlined Saudi Arabia's essential role in restoring regional stability and its steadfast support for Lebanon. He shared that they agreed to conduct several follow-up meetings and establish multiple channels of cooperation, particularly in support of Lebanese media.
