Minister Morcos Engages TIKA in Talks to Enhance Radio Lebanon


Beirut: Minister of Information, Attorney Dr. Paul Morcos, on Thursday received in his office at the ministry, a delegation from the Turkish Development Agency (TIKA), led by its newly appointed head, Murad Yordakul. Minister Morcos congratulated Yordakul on his appointment and welcomed the delegation, praising the logistical support previously provided to ‘T©l© Liban’ and stressing that ‘the time has come to support Radio Lebanon as well, enabling it to fully fulfill its national role.’



According to National News Agency – Lebanon, Minister Morcos explained that the support plan includes rehabilitating the existing studios and equipping them with modern technologies. This initiative aims to strengthen the relationship between Radio Lebanon and the National News Agency through the creation of a podcast to host experts, whose discussions will be transmitted via the Agency. Coordination will be ensured with the Information Ministry’s Director General, the National News Agency Director, and the Chairman of Radio Lebanon to follow up on the implementation of this collaboration with the Agency.



Minister Morcos added that the plan also includes safeguarding the radio station’s archive and securing its required needs, as well as rehabilitating the entrances to the Ministry of Information and the radio station, with work scheduled to begin in February and March.



The delegation will conduct a field visit on Friday, February 13, after receiving a detailed list of the required needs.
