Beirut: The Council of Ministers has commenced discussions on a draft financial gap law, with further discussions scheduled for the following day. Minister of Information, Attorney Dr. Paul Morcos, shared this update on Monday, highlighting the ongoing efforts to address economic challenges.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Minister Morcos conveyed that President General Joseph Aoun provided the Council of Ministers with details regarding the Lebanese army commander's recent visit to France, which was described as positive. The Prime Minister has underscored the practicality and feasibility of the financial gap draft law, emphasizing its role in ensuring fairness for depositors and aiding the recovery of the banking sector. A delay in its approval could lead to a decline in public and international confidence.

Minister Morcos further announced the appointment of IDAL's board of directors. Additionally, the Cabinet acknowledged the Ministry of Agriculture's plan to combat foot-and-mouth disease and approved an Egyptian donation for vaccination efforts.
