Beirut: The Ministry of Culture has launched a new national initiative, “Culture Brings Us Together,” aimed at strengthening social cohesion and cultural exchange during times of crisis. This initiative builds upon the earlier “Our Library Brings Us Together” project, which was introduced at the onset of the war to provide safe spaces for gathering, expression, and recreation through public libraries and cultural centers across Lebanon.

According to National News Agency – Lebanon, the “Culture Brings Us Together” initiative seeks to expand these efforts by including more cultural institutions and spaces beyond libraries, alongside introducing a variety of new activities. This expansion aims to engage broader segments of society and reinforce culture as an integral part of daily life. The initiative reflects the Ministry’s belief that cultural investment is essential for the recovery and rebuilding of society.

The Ministry is collaborating with local community organizations and cultural and creative sector actors, along with those managing public libraries and cultural spaces, to organize these activities effectively and broaden their impact. Activities planned under this initiative include reading and discussing stories, puppet theater, circus performances for children, art therapy sessions, educational support, film screenings, craft activities, and cultural heritage awareness programs.

The Ministry of Culture will progressively publish the schedule of activities on its social media pages, allowing the public to stay informed and participate.
