Baabda: MP Michel Moawad stated on Tuesday after meeting with President of the Republic, Joseph Aoun, that Lebanon has a real opportunity to end the war, describing it as the only path to restoring full state sovereignty.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Aoun voiced support for making the current war the last, backing the government's decision to implement a "Beirut demilitarized" approach as a first step toward limiting arms to state institutions.

Moawad emphasized that direct negotiations with Israel are "a responsible and courageous national choice," not a form of surrender. He affirmed his alignment with the presidency and the state, while prioritizing peace, stability, and Lebanon's national interest over all other considerations.
