Beirut: The Ministry of Public Works and Transport: The Ministry of Public Works and Transport said on Tuesday that it was continuing to implement its road maintenance and rehabilitation program across southern Lebanon as part of its plan to improve infrastructure, enhance road safety, and ensure the uninterrupted movement of citizens through a series of projects covering rehabilitation, resurfacing, and maintenance works on major and secondary roads.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, in the town of Majdal Selm in the Marjayoun district, the ministry is pressing ahead with a road rehabilitation project after excavation works and the base layer had been completed before the war, before work was suspended due to security conditions. Following the recent approval of the "Mechanism," work resumed on-site, with crews beginning to reconstruct the road base and complete asphalt paving in preparation for reopening the road to traffic.

Maintenance works are also continuing on the international highway in Deir Ez-Zahrani, where construction of a retaining wall is being completed to improve road safety.

In Jezzine district, maintenance and rehabilitation works are ongoing across the road network, including the Hytouli and Wadi Al-Laymoun roads, with the aim of improving mobility and facilitating access between towns.

In Azza, in the Nabatieh district, asphalt paving has been completed on the Al-Khazzan Road, while rehabilitation continues on a number of local and agricultural roads in the town of Kfour to facilitate access to agricultural land and improve local traffic movement.

In the city of Tyre, the ministry continues maintenance and resurfacing works in the Al-Dabbaa neighborhood.

The ministry is also continuing maintenance works on the Sidon-Borj Rahhal highway, including identifying damaged asphalt sections and removing damaged metal guardrails ahead of their replacement to further enhance road safety along the vital corridor.

The Ministry of Public Works and Transport reaffirmed its commitment to advancing its field projects in line with technical priorities and the needs of local communities, with the objective of preserving the road network, strengthening road safety, and improving the quality of infrastructure in service of citizens across the country.
