Damascus: More than 1,000 people have been killed in recent clashes along the Syrian coast, marking a significant escalation in the ongoing conflict. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that the recent deaths of civilians from the minority Alawite community have raised the total death toll from violence since Thursday to 1,018.
According to National News Agency – Lebanon, the casualties include 125 security personnel and 148 fighters reportedly affiliated with the regime of ousted President Bashar al-Assad. The monitor noted that these figures reflect the intense fighting and the complex dynamics on the ground.
The Observatory indicated that security forces and allied groups have killed 745 Alawite civilians over the past three days, revising upward a previous toll. This increase highlights the severe impact of the conflict on the civilian population and the ongoing challenges in ensuring their safety and security.
