Beirut: Grand Mufti of the Lebanese Republic, Sheikh Abdul Latif Derian, on Tuesday received Army Commander, General Rodolph Haykal, with whom he discussed the situation on the Lebanese arena. Grand Mufti Derian praised "the role of the army and its wise leadership in safeguarding the country's security," and affirmed "his support for the army and his backing of its efforts to preserve the country's stability and security." Mufti Derian also commended "the heroism and sacrifices made and continuing to be made by the Lebanese Army in confronting Israeli aggression against Lebanon and in maintaining security and stability across the country."

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, on the other hand, Mufti Derian received MP Adib Abdel Massih at Dar al-Fatwa, who stressed the importance of national unity and rallying behind the Lebanese state and the Lebanese Army.
