Netanyahu Commands Army to Expand Buffer Zone in Southern Lebanon


Beirut: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced on Sunday that he had directed the military to enlarge the buffer zone in Lebanon. This decision comes amid ongoing Israeli military actions in the southern region of Lebanon.



According to National News Agency – Lebanon, Netanyahu made a televised statement where he conveyed, “In Lebanon, I have just ordered the army to expand the existing buffer zone further.” This move aims to address security concerns along the border.



He further elaborated on the strategic objective, stating, “The goal is to definitively contain the threat of any attack (by Hezbollah fighters) and prevent the firing of anti-tank missiles across the border.” This expansion is seen as a preventive measure to ensure the safety and security of the border area.
