Netanyahu Supports US Blockade on Iran, Advocates for Security Buffer in Southern Lebanon

Majdal zoun: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced efforts to create a security buffer in southern Lebanon while expressing support for the United States' blockade on Iran.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Netanyahu attributed the collapse of negotiations with Iran to the American side, citing their inability to tolerate Iran's violation of the agreement terms. During a cabinet meeting, he noted the agreement required Iran to cease fire and reopen the Strait of Hormuz, which did not occur.

Netanyahu shared that US Vice President JD Vance, during a conversation from his plane returning from Pakistan, emphasized President Donald Trump's top priority: removing all enriched materials from Iran and preventing future enrichment for potentially decades. Netanyahu affirmed Israel's alignment with Trump's firm stance and the decision to impose a naval blockade on Iran. He warned that a ceasefire with Tehran could be fleeting and unstable.

On the situation in Lebanon, Netanyahu emphasized the need for a cohesive security zone in southern Lebanon to prevent infiltration and neutralize the threat of anti-tank missiles. He stated that Israeli forces are actively targeting "terror villages" near Israel, describing the systematic destruction of these sites as a significant operational shift, as reported by "Russia Today".
