Beirut: The nomination period for Lebanon’s 2026 parliamentary elections officially opened today, as the country completes its administrative and logistical preparations for this phase of the electoral process.
According to National News Agency – Lebanon, Minister of Interior and Municipalities Ahmad Hajjar inspected the office designated to receive nomination declarations at the Directorate General of Political Affairs and Refugees. Accompanied by the Director General of Political Affairs and Refugees, Faten Younes, Minister Hajjar reviewed the workflow and readiness measures related to receiving applications and organizing procedures.
Minister Hajjar also toured the Beirut Civil Status Department with Acting Director General of Personal Status Rodina Mouraib. During the visit, he examined the progress of work and emphasized the need to facilitate procedures for citizens and expedite the completion of their transactions.
