Military commander, Vladlin Tatarsky, was killed in an explosion in a cafe in downtown St. Petersburg, and 15 others were injured. The emergency service stated that the explosion was caused by a 200-gram explosive device planted in the Street Bar cafe, according to “Russia Today” news agency.
The emergency department stated that the site of the explosion was in the “Street Bar” cafe located in Building No. 25 on Universitskaya Naberezhnaya Street in the city center.
The explosion led to the collapse of the 15-square-meter facade of the café, as the weight of the explosive device was more than 200 grams of the highly explosive TNT.
The Prosecutor General of St. Petersburg, Victor Melnik, arrived at the scene of the explosion.
