Beirut: Maronite Patriarch, Cardinal Bechara Boutros al-Rahi, on Tuesday received several delegations at the patriarchal residence in Diman to discuss development, pastoral, social, and national initiatives.
According to National News Agency – Lebanon, Order of Malta Lebanon President Marwan Sehnaoui presented a project aimed at rehabilitating agricultural spaces in the patriarchate’s garden. The initiative includes cultivating medicinal and aromatic plants, developing handicrafts, and installing a sanitation system to protect the Qadisha Valley. This project is set to be inaugurated on August 29.
During the meetings, Rahi also reviewed university pastoral programs, a collective wedding planned by the Maronite League for September 5, and various initiatives supporting families and children’s education.
A delegation representing Khaldeh clans expressed their support for the state, the Constitution, and the Taif Agreement. They emphasized the need for the exclusive possession of arms by state institutions and discussed the Khaldeh events and the general amnesty file.
Rahi highlighted the importance of cooperation among Lebanese institutions and the significance of initiatives that support families, youth, and citizens’ attachment to their land.
