Plasschaert Expresses Mixed Feelings About Departure from Lebanon

Beirut: The UN Special Coordinator for Lebanon, Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert, has announced her upcoming departure from the country. In a recent post on the X platform, she conveyed her emotions regarding the move, stating, "I have mixed feelings. I am grateful to the Secretary-General for his continued trust, but sad to be leaving Lebanon soon. Lebanon has been through many difficult times, but it remains one of the most beautiful, resilient, and attractive countries in the world."

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Hennis-Plasschaert shared that it is not yet time for her to pack her bags, as she plans to continue her engagement with the Lebanese government and other stakeholders in the weeks leading up to her departure. Her commitment to further dialogue reflects her dedication to the country during her tenure.
