PM Nawaf Salam Addresses Maronite Diaspora Foundation Delegation, Pledges Reform and Rebuilding Efforts

Beirut: Prime Minister, Dr. Nawaf Salam, on Tuesday hosted members of the Maronite Foundation, along with 80 young Lebanese diaspora members, at the Grand Serail as part of a program visit to Lebanon.

According to National News Agency – Lebanon, Premier Salam delivered an earnest speech to the delegation, welcoming them back to their homeland and emphasizing their integral role as a “living bridge between Lebanon and the world.” He acknowledged the dual heritage the young diaspora members carry and their potential to contribute significantly to Lebanon’s future.

In his address, Salam candidly recognized Lebanon’s current political and economic challenges but expressed a steadfast commitment to rebuilding the nation. He highlighted the government’s ambitious reform agenda, aiming to establish a sovereign state that serves all its citizens and rebuilds trust between the state and its people, as well as with the Lebanese abroad.

Salam urged the diaspora to view their role beyond financial support, inviting them to actively participate in Lebanon’s political, economic, and cultural life. He emphasized the importance of new generations in crafting Lebanon’s ongoing story and encouraged the young visitors to maintain a deep connection with their roots.

The Prime Minister concluded with a heartfelt promise to continue working through reform, accountability, and rebuilding efforts to create a Lebanon that its diaspora can be proud of, reinforcing that their bond with the homeland should remain strong and active.
