Beirut: Prime Minister Dr. Nawaf Salam convened a meeting at the Grand Serail Palace focused on the prevailing conditions in the northern city of Tripoli. The meeting was attended by key government officials and representatives, including the Minister of Culture Dr. Ghassan Salameh, several MPs, and prominent local authorities.

According to National News Agency – Lebanon, MP Ashraf Rifi revealed that the discussion centered on the concerns of Tripoli. A report was presented, and a decision was made to establish a crisis cell with legal status to address the immediate needs of the city. The initiative aims to construct between 700 and 1,000 housing units to prevent potential structural failures threatening existing buildings, which could result in casualties.

Rifi assured the public that efforts to address these issues will commence without delay. He emphasized that Prime Minister Salam has committed to providing all necessary resources for structural reinforcement and sheltering efforts, without imposing financial constraints.

In a separate engagement, Prime Minister Salam received an invitation from Maronite Archbishop of Beirut, Bishop Paul Abdel Sater, to attend the Mass for the Feast of Saint Maroun. The event is scheduled to take place at the Maronite Cathedral of Saint George on February 9.
